This Privacy Policy explains how Chitok handles information when you use the Chitok iOS app and related services at knowlifyapp.com.

Information We Collect

Chitok may collect account information such as your username, password authentication data, session data, and subscription entitlement status. The app also stores learning activity such as saved vocabulary, progress, favorites, streaks, daily goals, and usage limits.

When you create Mandarin lesson content or use generated media features, the topic or prompt you submit and generated job history may be stored so the service can create, display, and manage your lesson videos.

Apple Subscriptions

If you subscribe to Chitok Pro, purchases are processed by Apple. Chitok receives StoreKit transaction information needed to verify your subscription and link Pro access to your signed-in Chitok account. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Vocabulary Sync

If vocabulary sync is enabled, the app uploads an encrypted vocabulary document for your account. The service stores the encrypted document and related metadata, but it is not designed to receive your plaintext vocabulary entries.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate the app, authenticate accounts, sync your learning state, enforce free and Pro feature limits, verify subscriptions, generate requested lesson content, prevent misuse, and maintain service reliability.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may use service providers for hosting, storage, authentication, media generation, analytics needed to operate the service, and subscription verification. Information may also be disclosed if required by law or to protect the service and users.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account and subscription records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Your Choices

You can use device settings and in-app controls to manage local app data, subscription status, and account access. You may contact us to request help with account data or privacy questions.

Children

Chitok is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
